Mid Hants Railway / The Watercress Line - Diesel Gala | 12/07/24

Friday 12th July 2024 was the first day of the Diesel Gala at the Mid Hants Railway (The Watercress Line), with all the videos being taken at Ropley. This particular gala featured three of the home fleet diesel shunters at the MHR, 08288 'Phoenix' and D3362 (08377), along with Class 11 12082. Three of the home fleet diesel locomotives at the MHR, D8059 (20059), D8188 (20188) and 47579 ‘James Nightall G.C.’ Five visiting locomotives, HST Power Cars 43468 and 43480 operated by RailAdventure, 50008 ‘Thunderer’ operated by Hanson & Hall, 50021 ‘Rodney’ based at Eastleigh and owned Paul Spracken and 50021 Owners Limited, 59104 ‘Village of Great Elm’ operated by Freightliner. 428, a Class 438 (4TC) Unit in the London Transport maroon livery temporarily based at Eastleigh and owned by Transport for London Engineering was another visiting exhibit for this year’s diesel gala.
