I normally get the 8 bucket root spa bucket system. The complete set is cheaper than getting the parts and making it yourself, and saves a lot of time. Prices change but at the time of recording the 4 bucket system is $100 the 1 bucket system is $58 and the 8 bucket at $180. They are Black food grade so no light gets in and come with the pump, net pots, tubes, elbow joints and pre drilled holes. Say you wanted to build your own, I find food grade black buckets for $10 and 1 net pot $10, even in packs, that would be $160 just in net pots and buckets. The value of the pump $65 so at this point its well over $180. Same on the 4 system its $100 the pump alone is $35, 4 buckets 4 net pots would be $80 plus the $35 again is over $100 total. That is before cost of tubes, elbow, joints, and grommets, ect. However If you insist on making your own I can list some parts, I have a 2200 character limit to use this description on all platforms. 1/2" inch grommets for the hole. I don't have a drill bit large enough I only have 1/2 inch bits. My guess is a 3/4" inch but I don't have one if you do test it first. I got a pack of 25 grommets for $15. 1/2" inch elbow joints to go in the grommet were $10 for 10. 1/2" inch tubing I recommend blue so you can see it not black or clear. Each bucket needs about 1ft of 1/2" but I could only get a roll of 100ft for $40. At the top of the tube you need that little white piece that fits on a 1/2" inch tube and allows a 1/4" inch tube to go in it. I'm not sure what the piece is.
