Commemorating Lewis "Louis" Frederick Muir's 140th Birthday Anniversary, born on May 30, 1883. One of the best ragtime composer and pianist in my opinion, with "Waiting for the Robert E. Lee" being the best. This is a medley arrangement which introduces "Ragtime Cowboy Joe", another song hit of Muir's and ends with "Waiting for the Robert E. Lee" again. This has been played by many ragtime orchestra with the same arrangement, I have not able to find band sheet music anywhere nor the arranger, I do suspect it was Robert Recker though. Original song copyrighted May 3, 1912 (Means this was never played on the Titanic), Orchestral arrangement copyrighted August 9, 1912. Also Muir actually recorded 2 known piano rolls with both being in F-Sharp, the key he could 'only' play because he was self taught. "Waiting for the Robert E. Lee" (actually intro': Take me to that Swanee Shore") on the Rythmodik label B2583, and "Ragging the Baby to Sleep" on the same Rythmodik label B2593. (I have scanned MIDIs for both of these rolls). Oh and also, I included the re-rolling of this one, it's one of the rolls that I can safely re-roll without any fear of damaging. One more thing I promise, this song was unfortunately not played on the Titanic or could've possibly known by anyone as this was published and copyrighted in May 1912, of which the Titanic went down on April 15, 1912 and was not recored until June 24, 1912 by Dolly Connolly.
