Here is the original recipe for this popular Italian Christmas cake. This authentic recipe, homemade in Italy, includes a homemade pistachio cream for the filling & the glace includes white chocolate as well as crushed pistachios covering the panettone. This recipe is relatively easy, if you follow exactly the steps as described in my video tutorial. It will take 1,5 days until you have the final product ready, as the dough needs to be prepared the day before baking, and so the dough will have to grow overnight. Once the panettone has been baked you can keep it for up to 1 week - a very original Christmas gift. In fact, here in Italy panettone is considered a very traditional Christmas cake, and it is very common to give it as present to friends and family, and of course it is also common to enjoy and eat it :) It is recommended to consume the panettone within 1 week after baking.
