Dr. Jonathan Valk (Ph.D., New York University) is a University Researcher at the University of Helsinki and was previously a University Lecturer in Assyriology at Leiden University. He specializes in Assyrian history, social and comparative history, and the interaction between cuneiform and Aramaic traditions. Starting in 2025, he will lead the ERC-funded ARAMAIZATION project at Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
