Watch a custom loaded AMPEX 456 cassette tape bring new life to an old cassette! Complete with a Tascam Portastudio 414 recording demo. With NOS tape prices skyrocketing, this is an experimental alternative to achieve results that were never before attainable in the cassette tape player format. The first thing required is to slit the 1/4" reel tape to the required width. Then, it must be loaded into the cassette cartridge. A couple of tape splices later, and the Ampex 456 Cassette tape is born! The second half of the video is a demonstration of the "new" cassette put to use in my Tascam 414MKII Portastudio tape recorder. The 414 player requires a high quality type II tape, High bias.
