Christians believe God to be invisible, that is, without a body. But Latter-day Saints believe that Heavenly Father has a glorified body. Mormons will often point out that Scripture records that Moses spoke with God face-to-face! Wouldn't that mean that Moses saw God’s face? Then how can Christians say that God has no physical body? The LDS Church considers God's body significant because "As man is, God once was, as God is, man may become". Since Heavenly Father was a physical being who was exalted, that implies that we, as physical beings, also may be exalted. Mormonism teaches that having a physical body is a requirement of the eternal law—and as such is critically important! On the other hand, Christians believe that God is eternal, immaterial, and unchanging. If God is the ONLY God who has ever and will ever exist in any universe, then there is no need for God to have a body. But more than this, the Bible teaches that "God is not a man", and that "God is spirit" and that "spirits have no flesh and bones". So Christianity has long taught that God exists without "body, parts, or passions". So how do Christians handle the LDS claim that Moses beheld God's physical face?
