GRADE 2 In Grade 2 each class was exciting, as there were lots of stories to tell and hear from our kids, from Book 1 (growing and learning) we had a great time hearing the story of “A Bundle of sticks” we even did it practically which was a great lesson of unity and one Jamat. In book 2 “A Journey Into Our Past” We went through the cities in which our Imam stayed we went from place to place where Hoopoe “the bird of wisdom” took us, and finally she took us to the BUI classes where kids were learning about our past to the time of Prophet Muhammed and Hazrat Ali, since the time of Mawlana Ali, we have always had an Imam to guide us. It was so much fun to know our past From book -3 “Murids of Imam as Zaman” We visited many places where our Ismaili family brothers and sisters are living, we learned how Mawlana Hazir Imam guides the Jamat, it is our Imam who united us as one community all over the world our Imam guides The Jamal to make spiritual and material progress. GRADE 3 This term, grade 3 students learnt different forms of art used in various crafts. One form of art that we explored was calligraphy and how Muslims used different forms and techniques of calligraphy to produce art. We looked at the Muslim calligraphy and calligraphy in today’s time and how they’re different styles. Students then got a chance to make their own calligraphy styles and design art. Students enjoyed learning about Muslim art and how art has evolved over time. Furthermore, grade 3 students visited the Ithnasheri Mosque and explored the architectural elements of a mosque and how Muslim art is incorporated into the building from different patterns and colours to calligraphy styles whereby learners were able to make connections to their learning. Grade 4 Grade 4 students explored the topic of “Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth” from Ta’lim Book 3 called “This Mysterious Universe.” This topic is connected with Sura Al-Nur which strengthens our faith and belief that Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth. This is the special light that Allah has given us, it is a light which guides us. As Shia Muslims we believe that this is the Light of Imamat. We call it the Nur of Imamat. “Nur” means “Light.” The Nur of Imamat is with the Ahl al-Bayt, the Imams from the Prophets family. This Light was with our first Imam, Mawlana Ali and it is now with Mawlana Hazar Imam. Our Imam guides us with His Nur. It is Hazar Imam who is our spiritual guide and helps us to understand our faith better. It is the Imam of the time, as the spiritual guide, who lights the Murid’s path towards a greater intellectual and spiritual understanding of the faith. Students prepared, designed and colored different lampshades which were unique to reinforce their learning connecting it with Sura Al-Nur (The Holy Quran: 24:35). The lamp shades were then placed on one lamp with one light. Just as students’ lamp shades were unique, our physical bodies are different. We are all of different shapes, sizes, colors, intellectual capacity etc… Just like the lamp shades were placed on one lamp with one light, similarly, the essence of our soul is one. We are all created by Allah and we all have one soul. We are all one and we are guided the Noor of Allah. Grade 5 Reflecting on our incredible year in grade five, our journey began with an engaging exploration of the Fatimid Caliphs, documented in a creative scrapbook. Rehan's quick wit and Alyshbah's insightful questions set the tone for an exciting start. Saahil's enthusiasm and Saleeha's artistic flair brought our historical investigations to life, while Liyana’s thoughtful reflections and Jayden’s inquisitive nature deepened our understanding.
