Filmed back in 1995, I took this during my return trip from Italy. Eurostar services were still in their infancy, and High Speed 1 was a distant dream! Watch the departure from platform 3 of Gare Du Nord, the Paris Suburbs were we gradually increase speed, and then travelling at 300km/h (186mph) once we're onto LGV Nord. We then slow down for Lille where we go through at around 140km/h (80mph) before regaining speed. Then finally arriving at the Channel Tunnel portal at Sangate we reduce speed to 160km/h (100mph). Once on the British side of the Channel. We take what was the Kent Mainline, through Ashford at a maximum speed of 150km/h (90mph) I ran out of battery before we reached Waterloo, and never had a chance to finish it. Always another time!
