Emerging research shows that chronic HIV infection overlaps with key biological hallmarks of aging, including persistent inflammation, immune activation, cellular senescence, and changes in the microbiome. In this talk, we explore how blood-based biomarkers like, epigenetic aging clocks and immunoglobulin glycomic profiles, are linked to multimorbidity and functional decline in ART-treated individuals. Together, these findings suggest that HIV may accelerate aging-related processes and highlight new opportunities for geroscience-informed therapies that could benefit both HIV and non-HIV populations.
