(ENGLISH) This is one of my tests resgarding the possible Machinist combination by optimizing the dual job system on the upcoming The Zodiac Age. I also showed Shikari damage output with Fomahaul which they can acess later in the game. All these tests will remain true in The Zodiac Age if the licenses and mechanics are the same as in IZJS version. Machinist is for sure a job that cannot be optimized. So you have to make choices when picking the second job for the character with Machinist job. Take notes: Despite of what you see in the video. You can get ONLY ONE Aldebaran Y in the main game (in Bazaar):    • FFXII IZJS - Ultimate Weapon [ Aldebaran Y...   A second one can be stolen from Elsa in the trial mode 86, and it's the rarest steal one Fomahault can be found in the Henne Mines after you obtain 10 espers and complete Jahara mark hunts:    • FFXII IZJS  Ultimate Equipement Henne Mine...   There's a 1/1000 chest that contain Fomahault in Cerobi Steppe Before anything else, there's something that everyone should know when planning who will be their Machinist or Shikari as gun user. Some characters have slower animation when using guns. These characters are Balthier and Penelo. Vaan, Fran, Basch and Ashe shooting animation take 1.4 seconds. Balthier and Penelo shooting animation take 1.6 seconds. May no look much, but each 15 shots of the four characters, Balthier and Penelo loses one shot because their long animation. As you can see I compare animation at 2:36 in this video putting Fran and Penelo at the same time and at 3:10 Fran shoot for the 15th time while Penelo shot for the 14th. That's 1 attack each 34 seconds! This extend to battle against multiple enemies too and it's something to consider on weak mode, where gun users are your main source of damage. Now, to the damage test: Basch (Shikari + Mystic Armor jobs) Fomahault Dark Shot Black Robe Hermes' Shoes Shemihaza in Shikari board unlock gun licenses 5 and 6, allowing Shikari to equip Spica, Antares, Arcturus, Fomahault and all gun ammunition. Pros Shikari can unlock Focus and Adrenaline by default. It's possible to equip either Berserker (perma-berserk accessory) or Hermes' Shoes (perma-Haste accessory) freely as there's no need for Blazer or Steel Gorget. The Black Robes increase Dark damage by 50% which increase damage on Dark weak targets such as Ultima and yiazmat. Cons Fomahault (52 ATK) isn't as strong as Aldebaran Y (66 ATK) Ashe (Machinist + Focus/Adrenaline jobs) Aldebaran Y Dark Shot Brave Suit Hermes' Shoes Since Machinist can't unlock Focus and Adrenaline in their own board, they must rely on another job to do so. Pros Equip Brave Suit (Perma-Bravery armor) Equip either Berserker (perma-berserk accessory) or Hermes' Shoes (perma-Haste accessory). Very useful though the whole game because the player can switch accessories without affecting damage output. Cons They cannot equip Black Robes which increase Dark damage by 50% affecting Machinist damage output on Dark weak targets such as Ultima and Yiazmat. Fran and Penelo (Machinist + mystic armor jobs) Aldebaran Y Dark Shot Black Robe Steel Gorget This is the setup with the highest damage potential, but this unit will be limited to only two accessories (Blazer, Steel Gorget) through the whole game in order to excercise it's full damage potential. Pros Can equip Steel Gorget (Adrenaline) and Black Robes (Dark damage +50%) against Ultima and Yiazmat reaching maximum damage output against those targets. Cons Cannot equip Berserker (perma-berserk accessory) or Hermes' Shoes (perma-Haste accessory) without decreasing damage output. Unit will be forced to use Blazer (Focus accessory) or Steel Gorget (Adrenaline Acessory) through the whole game in order to maximize damage. These are the options: If you want maximum use through the game. Choose a Focus/Adrenaline job as second job to Machinist. If you wan't maximum damage output against Ultima and specially Yiazmat. Choose a mystic armor user as second job to Machinist. Make a choice.
