What to do in Sanliurfa | Is Gobeklitepe worth visiting? | Backpacking Turkey

We are traveling around the world overland by train and we are currently in Turkey! We are taking a break from our around the world trip by rail to enjoy almost 2 months in Turkey. We will be enjoying the metropolis' of Modern Turkey, discovering ancient Greek and Roman cities, exploring the natural beauty and diving into mankind's pre-history past. We have ventured to Eastern Turkey to Sanliurfa, the stepping off point to visit the famous neolithic site of Gobeklitepe! We will show you how to get to Gobeklitepe but are you wondering what there is to do in Sanliurfa otherwise? We also explored town, visited the Sanliurfa Archeology Museum and Mosaic museum, explored the cave tombs and gawked at all the fish at Balikligol. Is was a busy 2 days in Sanliurfa but we really enjoyed ourselves and wished we had more time in Eastern Turkey. There is still much more to see, stay tuned!
