Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5,000 air helper springs for the rear axle. But before we get into that, why don't we just take a minute, check these out and make sure they're gonna work for you. Chances are pretty good if you're watching this video right now, you've been experiencing some suspension issues whenever you're towing a heavy trailer or have something really heavy in the bed of your truck. And you might notice, it's not riding quite how you want it. A lot of times you get some sag whenever you put heavy stuff back here. Truck wants to squat and your overall ride quality just isn't the same. The suspension's working harder and everything else. And so what airbags are gonna do is provide some additional support and get everything level again and riding true like you want it to. And being adjustable, you can really dial it in exactly how you want it. Now usually what we like to do is some before and after. We got a heavy water tank we like to put in the bed of the truck and drive around and really get a good feel for it. Unfortunately today, it's just something we're not gonna be able to do. But I've done a ton of these airbag systems and really familiar with them and they all work about the same. You really do see those benefits from preventing the truck from squatting or sagging down and just reducing the amount of suspension travel when you're hitting bumps and things like that, especially sway. So if you make a sharper turn or anything like that, a lot of times you'd feel the truck wanna roll over on it itself. And the airbags really, that's at least where I noticed the greatest improvement. But at the very least, my thought, since you're probably not gonna be towing all the time, how's the truck gonna ride with the airbags on Is it gonna stiffen up the ride and make it not that great, or are you gonna not be able to notice a change at all So with that in mind, why don't we go ahead, hop in, go for a spin and see how it feels. So inside the truck, I took this for a little cruise this morning before I worked on it with just the factory suspension and like I thought, like a lot of these half-ton or I'm sorry, three-quarter ton trucks, the suspension's just stiff right out of the factory, which is expected. But with the airbags on, we'll drive around and and see how it feels. So we're gonna go over some bumps and I got about six or seven pounds air in it, which is normally what you'd have it set at with nothing in the bed or not towing anything. And as I'm going over them, I really can't notice a difference in terms of drivability. It might almost be a little bit better in the back. It's almost like you got a cushion back there. So if it we're me, it won't really be a game changer either way. It's not like it's super noticeable and it's making it 10 times worse or stiffer, but it's not really improving it, maybe just a little bit. But like I said before, whenever you do have some weight back there pulling the big trailer, that's when you're really gonna notice the improvements. What we're gonna do now is just make some wide turns, some evasive maneuvering. And honestly, with no weight back here, we really shouldn't notice any changes. But like I said before, yeah, it feels the same as what it did factory. So that's a good thing honestly. But like I said before, done a ton of these and when you have weight in the bed or that heavy trailer truck almost wants to feel top heavy and it's just not as responsive as you'd like it to be, and that's usually where the airbags really shine at least in my opinion, in terms of real world driving experience and things like that. So what we're gonna do, why don't we go ahead, get off the road here, we'll pull into the garage and actually take a good look at the airbags underneath our truck. These are what the air springs are gonna look like installed underneath your truck and it's pretty straightforward how they work. Essentially, they're just gonna fill the void in between the top of your axle tube to the bottom of your frame rail and essentially act as a big cushion in between there. So it's really gonna help support your vehicle's suspension when you're doing some towing or have heavy loads in the bed of your truck. And these are d
