The second part of the KC-46A Pegasus Arrival Ceremony features the first two KC-46As arriving at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. On Tuesday November 9, 2021, two KC-46A Pegasus aircraft, callsigns PUDGY01 and PUDGY02, registrations 19-46057 and 19-46060, departing Boeing Field before sunrise to arrive at the Joint Base after 2:00 pm EST. PUDGY01 made a straight-in approach to McGuire's Runway 24; PUDGY01's landing rollout is featured in the video as well as it taxiing into parking. PUDGY02 made an overhead break off Runway 24 before landing and parking further down from the ceremony site. McGuire's runway layout is such that it is impossible to view final approach and landings to Runways 18 and 24 unless you were out at the very edge of the flight line. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is named after Thomas McGuire, a New Jersey native who became the second highest scoring American ace of World War II while flying the P-38 Lightning affectionately known as "Pudgy", named after his wife Marilynn "Pudgy" Giesler. This is one part of the KC-46 Pegasus series from that day.
