Immanuel Aleem defeated Jonathan Cepeda via unanimous decision in their April 19, 2016 PBC on FS1 matchup. The boxers didn’t disappoint the fans who packed the arena as the steel-chinned Aleem (16-0, 9 KOs) walked through the offense of the hammer-fisted Cepeda (17-2, 15 KOs) and usurped full momentum, employing his superior hand speed to pound his rival over the last four rounds of a unanimous decision victory. A 22-year-old fighting out of Richmond, Virginia, who was born in East Meadow, New Jersey, Aleem out-landed Cepeda by more than 2-to-1 (272-to-107) to win, 79-73 on all three judges’ cards. Aleem had scored five consecutive knockouts before winning his previous two fights by unanimous and split-decision over Oscar Riojas and Carlos in September and December. A 31-year-old from New Jersey, who has relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida, Cepeda had won five straight, with the previous four coming by stoppage, since, himself being knocked out in first round by Lamar Russ in In October 2012.
