In the late 1960s, Britain faced a growing demand for heavy dump trucks. Domestic manufacturers could not fully meet it, and the market turned to imports. Among the most unexpected choices were Soviet Kraz trucks. Originally designed for completely different conditions, these heavy dump trucks found their way into the United Kingdom - one of the most competitive markets in the world. And surprisingly, they did not fail. In this video, we look at how Soviet Kraz trucks ended up in Britain, how they were adapted to local regulations, how they performed in real conditions, and why they remained in service for more than a decade. This is a story of an unusual export, real competition, and machines that proved themselves far from where they were meant to be.
