High in the Carpathian Mountains, in a peaceful Ukrainian village, live Maria and Volodymyr — a couple who embrace the beauty and hardships of rural life. Their day begins with tending to their animals: three cows, a calf, pigs, chickens, and loyal dogs. Maria milks the cows while Volodymyr feeds them, cleans the barn, and takes manure to a large compost heap. Maria prepares a hearty village meal — potatoes with sausage — while Volodymyr works the fields. After a shared lunch, Maria cares for her garden and orchard. Though this video was filmed in early spring, we share it now, in the golden days of autumn, to show that rural love and hard work are timeless.
