Christopher May found guilty of the murder of Tracey Woodford A jury at Cardiff Crown Court has found Christopher May, 50, guilty of the murder of Tracey Woodford, whose dismembered body was discovered in a number of locations in the Pontypridd area on April 24th. Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Rob Cronick of the South Wales Police Specialist Crime Investigation Team, said: "Christopher May has today been found guilty of the murder of Tracey Woodford. "This inhumane, barbaric and sexually motivated act took the life of an unsuspecting, life-loving member of our community. "May had shown no remorse for his actions of murder, mutilation and dismemberment after which Tracey's family and friends have endured the further anguish and torment of a Crown Court trial. "Our thoughts today are with Tracey's family who, I hope, have been given some closure as a result of the jury's decision. "I would like to thank the communities of Rhydyfelin and Pontypridd for their support during the investigation and to the prosecution witnesses who gave evidence at the trial. "I also would like to pay tribute to the work of all those officers who took part in the investigation in such difficult and testing circumstances. In particular, I want to recognise the work of Sergeant Stuart Williams and Police Constable Craig Gardner, whose persistence and diligence resulted in Tracey being found. "I also want to thank the Crown Prosecution Service and the prosecuting counsel for the way in which they presented the case which has resulted in today's decision. "To conclude, no verdict will end the pain of the loss of a loved one. Tracey's family has shown immense strength and dignity during the last seven months and I hope that after today's events, they are closer in moving forward with their lives."
