The course description for this course appears below: 60 Hour NREMT Paramedic Refresher/Transition VILT (CAPCE: F5) Description: This 60 Hour NCCP complaint NREMT Paramedic Refresher course for the Paramedic is Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) approved and designated as (F5 Refresher Training). This course follows the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National Standard Curriculum for Paramedic Refresher. Students who successfully pass the course, will be presented with a certificate outlining the applicable topic areas. The course refreshes the paramedic with an understanding of providing prehospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. Areas of study include an introduction to emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of paramedics, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma, special considerations for working in the prehospital setting, and providing patient transportation. Students registering for this course certify that they meet the following technical requirements. 25 Hours VILT (Counts Same as In-Person Hours) 35 Distributive Education Hours Total = 60 Hour NREMT Refresher  VILT-CE cannot be used for verification of skills competency. Skills competency demonstration, practice and verification must be instructor-led in a face-to-face environment. Cost: $395.00 CEU: 60.0 Hours 40 Hour NREMT Refresher/Transition VILT (CAPCE: F5) This 40 Hour, NREMT Refresher class is completed through the use of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) and meets National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) guidelines to recertify as an EMT. This course is approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), formerly CECBEMS approved course and designated as (F5 Refresher Training). This course follows the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National Standard Curriculum for Emergency Medical Technician Basic Refresher (2009). Students are trained according to the standards outlined above. Students who successfully pass the course, will be issued certification identifying the number of hours obtained for training for the use of re-registration as an EMT. 16 Hours VILT (Counts Same as In-Person Hours) 24 Distributive Education Hours Total = 40 Hour NREMT Refresher  VILT-CE cannot be used for verification of skills competency.
