#auliasabrina1918 #Madrid #trending The Usera district hosts the first Autumn Festival on November 5, an approach to Chinese and Latin American cultures that have a long tradition in the district. In addition to parades, exhibitions, dances and a free tasting of Chinese cuisine, the sculpture of a panda bear donated by the Chinese community is inaugurated at the confluence of Pilarica and Julio Merino streets. The cultural and festive event is organized together with the Chinese and Latin American communities. A day with music, gastronomy and dances, which include traditional dances such as the lion with drum, a display of fans, the Chinese kimono or the children's dragon, as well as the performance of Latin dances with groups from Chile or Bolivia. There is also room for children's workshops on Chinese games: wave painting on fans; cutting of paper figures and dance of dragons and drums; other family activities between the streets of Pilarica and Julio Merino, with Chinese games, origami or fan painting; and exhibitions, from modern dance and fan classes to tai chi or kung fu. Gastronomy is one of the most important cultural elements of a society, the Chinese community offers a free tasting of dishes from the gastronomy of their country, between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., for more than 500 people. One of the highlights is the unveiling of a panda figure that represents China's national treasure. A testimony of the friendship and harmony between the Spanish and Chinese peoples and of the historical ties of both countries. The reason for choosing a panda bear comes from a legend from about 5000 years ago that tells the story of King Xuanyuan Huangdi who, after failing to use force to conquer other tribes, used a panda bear as a totem, following the council of the gods. In this way, he managed to unite the other tribes peacefully and form a powerful nation. Later, he was recognized as the founder of the Chinese people and since then the panda bear represents peace.
