We were asked by a builder of this custom home to stabilize and strengthen the soil below this new foundation as he and the owner had found several soft soil areas with high sand content below and at the footings. We injected a water activated polyurethane resin into the soil to permeate the soil and create an additional supporting structure out of the weak soil itself. After injection the resin impregnates the soft sandy soil to create a solid high density mass that can sustain significantly more weight than before. This last for the life of the structure above it and does not add any significant weight to the soil (about 36lbs from 3 gallons after expansion and cure). We injected to create roughly 36" x 36" x 36" deep piers every 30" inches below the footings the entire perimeter. This was done in one days time with no delay in construction for the builder.
