Garrison Brewing Adam and Eric Schwarz Black Lager

We head out to Mahone Bay and taste the winner of Garrison Brewing Brew-off competition from 2011, which was to brew a black lager ( Schwarzbier ). The winning brew just got launched in the last week of March 2012 and we decided to try it. You know, the beer looks big and heavy. but the initial light roast and very balanced notes makes this a a surprisingly refreshing beer. Kudos to Adam & Eric the upscale process works for me and this brew is a nice addition to Garrison's line of seasonal brews. As is the custom at this annual event, the gala also featured the unveiling of a batch of last year's winning beer made on Garrison's brewing system. 2011′s winning team of Adam Comeau and Eric Oliver worked with Garrison brewmaster Daniel Girard to scale up their recipe for Adam und Eric's Neuschottland Schwarz Black Lager, and the result is available now in bottles at the Garrison retail store and select private liquor stores in Nova Scotia. #avoidingchores
