April 2nd, 2017 was the Lotte World Tower Fireworks Festival (롯데월드타워 불꽃축제), located at Jamsil, in Seoul, South Korea. Lotte World Tower is currently the tallest building in the OECD, and 5th tallest in the world. It is 123 stories high, and 555 meters tall. Like other skyscrapers around the world (Taipei 101, Petronas Towers, Burj Khalifa, etc.), South Korea finally has its own massive skyscraper to hold awesome fireworks shows from. The next time there is a fireworks show at the tower, you should definitely go! Pro Tip: make sure to come 2 hours early, bring some sitting mats, and pack some food & drinks! The best location for viewing is along Lake Seokchon, situated behind the tower and Lotte World Amusement Park. When the fireworks are done and everyone goes home, I suggest hanging out for 1 hour to let the crowds die down. The nearby Jamsil Station will be completely packed, with lines going as far back as the exits of the station itself to the platform 2 levels below ground. Bus stops will have lines a city block long, and hailing a taxi will be impossible. An alternate option for leaving after a fireworks show is to just walk to the next station.
