A Peaceful Sunday Morning - Catemaco, Veracru

Enjoy this peaceful Sunday morning in the hidden tropical paradise found in Catemaco, Veracruz. Catemaco is located 100 miles / 160 km south of the city of Veracruz. It takes about 3 hours by car and a little more by public bus. Catemaco is located in what's known as the Los Tuxtlas region of the state of Veracruz. Adjacent to it is the 4th largest lake in Mexico; Lake Catemaco. Pristine Gulf of Mexico beaches are found about one hour from the town. English is rarely spoken here. Very few foreign travelers find this tropical hideaway. Very few travel agents or other tour companies have discovered this place for their clients. Catemaco is geared for the intrepid and adventurous traveler. There are small 2-3 star hotels and simple locally owned restaurants. Nothing fancy here. Nearby is tropical rain forests with many hidden streams and beautiful waterfalls. You may want to check out these two travel videos.
