I created three AI texts using the latest ChatGPT model, each around 200 words. I checked the original detection scores using GPTZero and ZeroGPT and then I processed each text through QuillBot’s AI Humanizer in Basic mode. After that I ran the rewritten versions back through both detectors to see if anything changed. Free users can only humanize 125 words at a time. Since my samples were longer I had to split every text into two parts, process them separately, and then combine them again. Advanced mode is locked behind Premium so everything here reflects the Basic version only. Here are the scores on screen and as you can see nothing really changed. GPTZero still shows a very strong AI probability and ZeroGPT also flags the texts as fully AI-generated, All three samples were detected at 100% AI even after being “humanized.” If the purpose of a humanizer is to reduce AI signals, Basic mode doesn’t seem to achieve that, and It’s possible that the paid Advanced mode performs better but based on the free version the output looks almost identical to the original AI text in the eyes of detectors. The grammar is clean but it keeps obvious AI patterns like em dashes and slightly formal phrases, some expressions feel generic like “unlock new efficiencies,” and overall the tone still feels very neutral and predictable. There’s no strong personality shift. Premium ranges from about eight to twenty dollars per month depending on the plan. That unlocks Advanced mode, unlimited words, tone insights and other writing tools. If you use the full toolkit the price might make sense, but strictly for humanization the free results are not convincing. Now let me briefly compare this to another humanizer called Clever AI Humanizer which in my testing produced dramatically better detection results. As you can see on screen both GPTZero and ZeroGPT showed zero AI probability. It also removed common AI markers automatically and restructured the text more deeply, while keeping strong readability. If your main goal is to actually reduce AI detection, Clever AI Humanizer clearly performs better based on the results.
