Finally I got a chance to test out the Metabones EF to X mount Speedbooster. The is the adapter I have been waiting for so long since the X-H1. I know there is another company also have a speedbooster for the X-T4. But when it comes to the image quality. Metabones is always the lead. So what’s so special about this speedbooster? Oh well, as we all know the speedbooster is not just about reducing the crop factor and give you the full frame ish look. You’ll also be getting one extra stop of light. And this is a real deal. Especially for Fujifilm cameras. Because Fuji cameras aren’t that good when it comes to lowlight performance. So having one extra stop of light is really handy. During the test, the adapter did a fantastic job. It didn’t lose the connection at all. And you get the full controls on the X-T4. It feels like you were using the Fujifilm lens. Although the video AF wasn’t that accurate. But that full frame look already make me happy. I don’t mind if I had to use manual focus only. Note: I was surprised the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens worked on the Speedbooster and the X-T4 too. But you gotta switch the camera to 4K 60p, because the camera crops in 1.18x.
