Happy St Piran's Day, from Lappa Valley and our friends at St. Newlyn East Band! St Piran's Day is Cornwall's national day - where we celebrate being Cornish and everything our great county has to be proud of. St Piran is one of the Patron Saints of Cornwall, as well as being the patron saint of tin miners. We were pleased to welcome the band on board a train hauled by Zebedee, to play a rendition of "The Song of the Western Men". It's more popularly known as "Trelawny's Army" and considered by many to be Cornwall's national anthem. Thank you to all the band members for braving the cold, to become (as far as we know) the first band to play on one of our trains. ----------- Lappa Valley is Cornwall's Secret World of Play and Trains, with three railways and both indoor and outdoor family fun.
