On June 12th, 2025, more than 1,000 people came together in the downtown area of Las Vegas to protest against ICE. This video shows the protest and police response from start to end. The protest quickly escalated and was deemed a unlawful assembly. SWAT and other tactical teams from multiple agencies responded and took control using road blocks, barriers, tear gas, pepper ball rounds, less lethal rubber rounds, and other tactical movements to disperse the crowd. Official statement from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department: UPDATE: Protest Arrests in Downtown Las Vegas On June 11, 2025, a protest in the 500 block of South Las Vegas Blvd escalated into an unlawful assembly when Despite multiple dispersal orders given in both English and Spanish, many individuals refused to leave the area. ⚠️ 94 adults were arrested and 7 juveniles cited after protestors began throwing water bottles and rocks at officers, blocking roadways, and damaging property. 🚓 4 LVMPD officers were injured during the unrest. 🚨 Several nearby buildings were spray painted and vandalized. LVMPD supports the First Amendment right to protest—but violence, vandalism, and refusal to obey lawful orders will not be tolerated. We urge anyone participating in demonstrations to do so peacefully and lawfully.
