Rest In Peace Lt Miller United States Navy Lt. Roxanne Marie Miller was born on September 6, 1987, in Oakland, California. She died on January 23, 2025, in Maui, Hawaii due to a drowning accident while snorkeling in the ocean. She was known for being spontaneous, adventurous, fun-loving, intelligent, and for her superb taste in music and movies. She loved motorsports, especially motorcycles, and was a gun enthusiast. She was well-loved by her family and friends, which was evident in how she treated others and conducted herself in life. There was never a dull moment with Roxanne. She enriched our lives with her presence. There are so many shared adventures, celebrations, and profound moments to remember her by. We will miss her dry sense of humor and her “matter-of-fact” attitude. We are grateful for all the silly, exciting, subtle, and poignant memories we have of our beloved, Roxanne. Her list of accomplishments was as follows: Earning her undergrad in Pre-Med at BYU Hawaii Earning her PhD (doctorate) in Human Physiology with an emphasis in Neuroscience at BYU Provo UT. The findings of her research in Neuroscience were published in 2 scientific journals. She was also interviewed by the New York Times Science Editor. She was commissioned as an Ensign in the Navy on a medical scholarship and completed officer training in Rhode Island. She attended the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM). There she earned her D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). She then became a Lieutenant in the Navy and was stationed at the Balboa Veterans Hospital where she worked in the Psychiatry ward.
