A spring canoe camping trip June 14-16 in Algonquin Park, 3 days, 2 nights, my first time trout fishing! On our way up to Algonquin Park, we did a pit stop so that I could gear up with my own fishing rod tackle and get my fishing license all at Cabela's / Bass Pro. We got to test out our new Original Bug Shirts - they are awesome and were much needed in June. Come with us to see if I caught any fish and got to do my own first catch and cook! At least I can say that learning to fish was a lot of fun! Please always be respectful when learning about a new hobby, fishing especially can be harmful to some ecosystems when appropriate care and respect is not given. Make sure to get a fishing license if applicable and get to know the area you plan to fish in, know the rules, and how to participate with minimal impact. Keeping your limit or less. Know some fish species such as trout are very sensitive and over handling, holding to tight, too much time out of water or punctured gills will sadly mean that fish will not survive even if you release the fish. Knowing this, you can strive to uphold noble fishing practices while enjoying a fulfilling heritage tradition.
