My life doesn’t feel real — and apparently that’s normal. In this episode, I talk about something no one warned me about: the experience of feeling detached from your own life. Not metaphorically. Literally. Like you’re watching yourself exist from slightly behind your own eyes. When I finally said this out loud to a doctor, I expected alarm. Instead, I was told this is a very common nervous system response, especially in people who are neurodivergent, traumatised, highly masked, or coming off medication. That reassurance helped — and also deeply unsettled me. This video is about: • feeling unreal while still functioning • dissociation, depersonalisation, and emotional detachment • burnout, masking, and nervous system survival • being trans and neurodivergent in a world that demands performance • why “normal” doesn’t mean easy • and how safety, connection, and time matter more than forcing yourself to feel better If you’ve ever thought: “I don’t feel like I’m really here” “I feel like I’m watching my life” “Everything is fine but something feels wrong” —you’re not broken, dramatic, or insane. This isn’t the end of you. It’s a phase of re-entering yourself. Even if it feels weird as hell. 💬 If this resonates, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to carry it quietly.
