If you want to avoid fighting angry children, complaining children, I recommend having some of these road trip games. The first one is a classic: I spy. I spy with my little eye something that is green or whatever color you choose and the other people in the car have to make guesses about what it is. Okay, the next road trip game for kids you can play is: 20 questions. I'm sure you've played this before, but you can think about a secret person place or thing and then the other people have up to 20 Questions yes-no questions to try to figure out what it is. For little kids you can even narrow it down to 10 questions and it can maybe be a secret animal or a secret job or something like that. The next game to play in the car is a treasure hunt. Think of three things, for example: a blue car an animal and then a car with a child in it and the first person to spot all three of those things is the winner and they can think of something for the other people to do as a treasure hunt. All right, the next game is: "I'm going on a picnic". I would say "I'm going on a picnic and I'm gonna bring a book what do you want to bring?" and the other people in the car can make guesses about what they want. In my case it has to have a double letter. If someone says something that has a double letter, they can come with me. But if it's something else I say "sorry, you can't come". Keep going until everyone has figured out your secret rule. The next game you can play is: "name that place". You can get creative. If you see a hill you could say "the dark and foreboding hill" or if you see a lake you could say "oh there's a Lake of shimmering ice" or something like that.
