"L'elisir d'amore" by Gaetano Donizetti is a cheerful opera in which true and selfless love is shown to overcome all obstacles and win over the toughest of hearts. This rendition is a re-proposal of the legendary staging from Vienna 2005, starring Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón. In this cast, young talents such as Aida Garifullina (Adina) and Benjamin Bernheim (Nemorino) deliver a good performance, accompanied by a skillful Paolo Rumetz as Dulcamara. Unfortunately, the original recording of this opera is slightly damaged and has a few stutters and hitches that I was not able to fix in post-processing, but I don't think that it detracts from the overall quality of the performance.
