The last half of the third and fourth quarters of the 2005 Australian Football League (AFL) Grand Final, which was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday 24th September, 2005, between the Sydney Football Club (The Swans) and the West Coast Football Club (The Eagles). The 109th VFL/AFL Grand Final saw an official attendance of 91,898 spectators. The commentators for this Grand Final were Stephen Quartermain, Tim Lane, Robert Walls and Stephen Silvagni. Paul Roos was Sydney's coach, and John Worsfold was West Coast's coach. The final score saw Sydney defeating West Coast by 4 points, to win their fourth Premiership, their first since 1933 (as the South Melbourne Swans). Recorded from the broadcast of the 2016 AFL Grand Final Marathon, October 1, 2016, on the Seven Network (HSV-7). Vaxfacts: The final result was the closest for a Grand Final since the drawn 1977 Grand Final. Both teams would again face off the following year for the Premiership, with West Coast emerging victors by a point.
