The Nebraska State Fair is a celebration of agriculture. That extends beyond the barns as school kids spread out across the grounds for a unique field trip. The largest classroom event welcomed public, private, and home school students and many Ag and natural resources groups including Nebraska Extension providing the programming Here at the Nebraska State Fair the Nebraska Corn Board has a well-known presence. This week for our in the field update, we caught up with Chairman of the Nebraska Corn Growers Association, Chris Grams to find out what is new with the organization as harvest draws near. Many producers around the state are expecting good yields this year. However, as corn and soybean prices continue to take a hit, many producers are wondering when their fortunes may change. We caught up with the ARC Group’s Heather Ramsey during our stop here at the Nebraska State Fair to get her two cents on the current trends in the market. We've seen a shift to some fall temperatures, are those brisk fall days right around the corner? Nebraska Extension's Eric Hunt has the forecast. As we near harvest there are still some disease concerns for Nebraska soybean producers. We caught up with Nebraska Extension Plant Pathologist Dylan Mangel at the final stop of the 2025 Soybean Management Field Days near Mead. Our colleague Steve White has been keeping close tabs on the action here at the State Fair all week. You may remember last week Steve shared a great story with us on the ins and outs of the state fair 4-H judging process.
