The Vaishnava community recently witnessed the transcendental departure of His Grace Paradhyeya Prabhu (ACBSP), a beloved disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who left his body on 31st May 2025 at 9:20 PM in Sacramento, California, surrounded by kirtan and chanting devotees. His Grace Paradhyeya Prabhu’s life was a living example of humility, unwavering devotion, and selfless service to Srila Prabhupada’s mission. Along with his devoted wife, Her Grace Chaitanya Mataji, he played a key role in establishing 22 temples and 9 centers across India, Africa, Thailand, and the United States, including cities such as Guwahati, Madras, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Surat, Patna, Bangkok, Long Island, Atlanta, New Talavan, Sacramento, and San Jose. Through this service, they helped fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s vision of spreading Krishna consciousness worldwide. In his final years, His Grace Paradhyeya Prabhu remained bedridden, with minimal speech, uttering only the Holy Names. Even when physically weakened, his right hand continued moving in a chanting position, revealing his deep and constant absorption in the Holy Name. During his final days, he stopped eating and drinking for seven days, reminiscent of King Pariksit, fully immersing himself in remembrance of the Lord. On the auspicious day of Ram Navami, he softly chanted “Ram, Ram,” as was his lifelong practice. His peaceful departure, surrounded by devotees chanting the Holy Name, stands as a powerful reminder of the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita: that remembrance of the Lord at the time of death leads one to the spiritual destination. His life and passing beautifully demonstrate the potency of the Holy Name and the ideal example of a pure Vaishnava. His Grace Paradhyeya Prabhu’s legacy will live on through the many temples and centers he helped establish and through the countless lives inspired by his humility, devotion, and service. A detailed account of his life and service is expected to be shared in a forthcoming book. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to the devotees.
