Outlander | Tribute to Sam & Caitriona 💛 Jamie & Claire | These Are The Special Times

The setting for my video this week is the song "These Are The Special Times" by the incomparable, wonderful and brilliant Celine Dion ✨💛🙏🏼    / @celinedion  . I really hope that she doesn't mind the use of the song and won't have the video deleted. I adore her and her music has been with me for decades. And so I was surprised that I didn't know this song when my dear T told me about it and how appropriate she thought it would be to make a video about Sam and Caitriona. And after listening to the song, I had to agree with her, it fits beautifully to portray those emotions about the end of Outlander and their time together. The end of the series probably touches us all and if we are already reacting so emotionally, how might the two people who brought Claire and Jamie to life in such an incomparable way be feeling? Who built and lived these characters for 11 years. They have made so many memories in those years, as Sam and Caitriona, but also as Jamie and Claire. In a way, they have lived two lives, their own in the real world and that of their characters in the Outlander world. Everything they have experienced in both worlds and all the memories from that time are somehow interwoven. So a little bit of Outlander, its magic and its enchantment will stay with them for the rest of their lives. They have been on an incredible, magical, epic journey together and we have been able to accompany them and watch them grow and develop personally, as well as their roles. And now that filming for season 8 has finished, they have had to say goodbye to the entire team, their Outlander family, which they have gained and which they have probably seen more often at times than their actual families. And from Jamie and Claire and the wonderful love that characterizes the two of them and connects them across time and space. For us it's just a huge loss, for them it's probably a liberation and a loss at the same time. Over time, they may begin to realize what the roles have given them and perhaps taught them. How much of Jamie and Claire they have always carried within them, what they have acquired through them or should still acquire. And so this video is different from my other ones (but I'm toying with the idea of possibly making another one, just for Jamie & Claire, what do you think?). I'm not really telling a part of Jamie and Claire's story, rather I'm highlighting Sam and Caitriona's journey, similar to my video "That's What Friends Are For". Whether it's panels, interviews, photo shoots, BTS footage or even scenes from the show, I've used it all and woven it together, hopefully hitting the message of the song and the emotions it's about. It's about a very special time in your life that you have shared with someone and that you will always carry in your heart. A path that you walked together for a certain amount of time, driven by the same dream. And a path of which it was completely unclear at the beginning where it would lead and how much it would change everything. At the end, after 11 years, you look back with gratitude and pride, but also melancholy and sadness. So it's also about saying goodbye. With all that they experienced, how closely they worked and lived together and got to know each other, I think and hope that Sam & Caitriona will remain friends for a lifetime, it would be a shame if they didn't. I am so grateful for what they have given us. No one else could have brought this unique story, from the mind of the wonderful Diana Gabaldon, to life on screen, made the magic and mystical connection of Jamie & Claire so real. You enchanted and captivated us all and gave us so many blissful hours. For me, there has never been a show comparable to Outlander and there will probably never be another one that touches and carries me away like this. THANK YOU FOR THAT!
