Easy Homemade Bitters Recipe That Actually Works! DIY Digestive Enzymes! || Emma Voysey Ingredients: 500ml organic v**ka (at least 40% ABV) Alternative: You can also use Apple Cider Vinegar, for a non-alcohol version 3 tbsp dried organic dandelion root (or fresh chopped root, if available) 2 tbsp dried organic horsetail 2 tbsp dried organic orange peel (optional but great for flavour and digestion) 1 tbsp dried organic ginger root 1 tbsp dried organic gentian root (optional, but enhances bitterness and digestion) 1 tbsp dried organic Angelica 1 tsp fennel seeds (optional, but supports digestion) Method: Sterilise your jar:Use a clean glass jar (around 750ml capacity). Wash it thoroughly, rinse with boiling water, and allow to air-dry completely. Add ingredients:Combine the dandelion root, horsetail, orange peel, ginger root, gentian root, and fennel seeds in the jar. Pour in the vo*ka/vinegar:Completely cover your herbs with the liquid, ensuring they're fully submerged. Leave at least 2 cm space at the top of the jar. Shake and infuse:Seal your jar tightly, shake gently, and store it in a cool, dark place.Infuse for 3-4 weeks (longer is also fine!), shaking gently every day or two. Strain your bitters:After infusing, strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, squeezing gently to extract the potent liquid. Bottle your bitters:Transfer your finished digestive bitters into amber glass dropper bottles or dark-coloured glass bottles. Label clearly and store in a cool, dark place. How to Use Your Digestive Bitters: Take 15-20 drops directly on your tongue or dilute in a small glass of water before meals. Enjoy daily or as needed, especially before heavy or rich meals, to stimulate digestion.
