To mark one year of the Black Creatives Hub, we brought together some of the most exciting voices in arts and culture for a powerful evening of conversation, creativity and connection at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. We were joined by an incredible line-up: Lanre Bakare (arts and culture correspondent at The Guardian), Jade Pearl (multidisciplinary artist), Yolanthe Fawehinmi (Senior Lifestyle Reporter at PA Media and host of Black Prose podcast), Ayo Oj (fashion commentator and content creator known as ‘Fashion Roadman’), Ken Nwadiogbu Studio (multidisciplinary visual artist), Clio Chinyama (spoken word artist) and the world-renowned photographer, James Barnor, Hon. FRPS, OV. The event was chaired by Maureen A Salmon MA FRSA SFHEA CMgr MCMI (Associate Dean of Knowledge Exchange and Senior Lecturer, Design School College, LCC) and Prof. Paul Goodwin (Director at Research Centre for Transnational Art, Identity and Nation - TrAIN - and chair of Contemporary Art and Urbanism, UAL). Together, they shared their journeys, tackled the realities of representation, and sparked vital dialogue on what it means to build space, own narratives and shape the future of the creative industries.
