After four years renovations and restorations Schloss Lichthof is ready to open the doors and start welcoming new guests. The last four years were an important time for us. We had the opportunity to get to knwo this place better, becoming familiar with this beautiful light house built in 1704, in a Baroque styl. Schloss Lichthof has experienced a 300 years long journey hosting the German aristocracy for centuries, it was one of the main castles belonging to the Duke von Hellersdorf. The castle survived few wars, being first occupied by the Americans after the Second World War and later on by the Russians, it was transformed during the GDR in to a comunity house for the little village of Baumersroda, accommodating the kindergarten, city hall, a clinic, hair dresser, post office and a restaurant, serving as the center of the comunity life. Now Schloss Lichthof has become a place to slowdown and reset. Here you can immerse yourself in its history and enjoy the surrounding nature. It is a place deeply connected with the past, yet welcomes the light and beauty of the present while creating a sustainable vision for the future.
