What is Dorsal and what is it used for? DORSAL is a muscle relaxant and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, particularly effective in acute cases of skeletal muscle contracture and pain. DORSAL promotes the return to daily life in patients with pain due to muscle contracture in the neck (torticollis, cervicalgia), back (dorsalgia, low back pain), or any musculoskeletal system, as well as in sprains, post-reduction of dislocations or fractures, sports or accidental trauma, muscle, tendon, and ligament strains, and other conditions accompanied by muscle contracture and pain. In the relief of exacerbations of certain forms of rheumatic pain (osteoarthritis, osteoarthritis, extra-articular rheumatism, ankylosing spondylitis, signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis). How to take Dorsal? Route of administration: Oral. In adults: Minimum dose and duration of treatment: • The dose of DORSAL, 200 mg/15 mg, is 1 tablet per day, orally, for no more than 21 days. • The dose of DORSAL, 200 mg/7.5 mg, is 1-2 tablets per day, orally, for no more than 21 days. Maximum dose: The maximum daily dose should not exceed 200 mg of Carisoprodol/15 mg of Meloxicam. Therefore, the maximum number of tablets you can take per day for the DORSAL® 200 mg/15 mg form is one tablet, and the maximum number of tablets you can take per day for the DORSAL, 200 mg/7.5 mg form is two tablets. It is important to mention that the dose should be adjusted to the intensity of the pain and the sensitivity of each patient. Generally, the shortest possible duration at the lowest effective dose for analgesia should be chosen, as defined by the treating physician. Special Populations: Pediatric Use: DORSAL should not be administered to patients under 12 years of age. Geriatric Use: Chronic use of Meloxicam should be avoided in patients 65 years of age and older due to the increased risk of GI bleeding and peptic ulcer disease, and the potential for an increased risk of acute kidney injury. Therefore, DORSAL should be used with caution, starting with the lowest dose for the shortest possible duration. Hepatic Impairment: In patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh class A or B), no dose adjustment of DORSAL is necessary. For patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh class C), DORSAL should be avoided. CONTRAINDICATIONS: DORSAL® should not be administered in the following cases: • Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or any of the formula's excipients. • Patients with acute peptic ulcer (due to meloxicam). • Patients with a history of bronchospasm with rhinoconjunctivitis or urticaria/angioedema associated with aspirin or other NSAIDs. • Patients with acute intermittent porphyria, allergy, or idiosyncratic reactions to carisoprodol-related compounds such as meprobamate, mebutamate, or tibamate. • During pregnancy or breastfeeding. • In children under 12 years of age. SIDE EFFECTS. Dorsal has common and uncommon side effects such as: Gastrointestinal: nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, hiccups. Dermatological: rash, itching, hives. Neurological: Dizziness, headache, vertigo, double vision, disorientation. Cardiological: Low blood pressure, increased heart rate. This is not a complete list of all possible side effects.
