First, we will guide you to hide drives, and then guide you with steps to show drives. According to your needs, you can show or hide drives under File Explorer. You can use the same commands on Windows 11, 8, and 7 too, if you are still using them. Here is how to do it. To hide a drive from your Windows PC, first, click on the Start button and then type CMD. In the available search results, right-click on the Command Prompt entry and select the Run as administrator option. When you're done, an elevated Command Prompt will open. Here, type diskpart and then hit Enter key from the keyboard. At the DISKPART prompt, type list volume and press Enter to see the list of all drives available on your PC. Here, you need to note down the volume number you want to hide. For instance, we want to hide drive E for which the volume number is 5. So to select drive E, my command will select volume 5. Now, to hide a drive, type the command remove letter E and hit Enter from the keyboard to execute it. Here, E is the drive letter that I want to hide. That's it. The selected drive or volume will be hidden from the File Explorer until you show it again. To show the hidden drive, first, click on the Start button and then type CMD. In the available search results, right-click on the Command Prompt entry and select the Run as administrator option. When you're done, an elevated Command Prompt will open. Here, type diskpart and then hit Enter key from the keyboard. At the DISKPART prompt, type list volume and press Enter to see the list of all drives available on your PC. Here, you need to note down the volume number you want to show. For instance, we want to show volume 5 in File Explorer with the drive letter E. So, first, select the volume by typing select volume 5 and hitting Enter key on the keyboard. Then, to attach the drive letter E to Volume 5, my command will assign letter E.
