During this press conference, Pinellas County Sheriff Robert Gualtieri LIES about multiple crucial details regarding the actions of PCSO Deputy William Heck in the moments before the fiery crash that killed three teens. Sheriff Gualtieri claimed the three cars (the Explorer, the Sebring and the PCSO Cruiser) were all playing "cat and mouse games between McMullen Booth Road and speeds were at or below the 45 MPH Speed limit. However, GPS data from Deputy Heck's cruiser shows that the slowest he went on this stretch of road was 50.25mph and the fastest was 62.44mph and likely higher. Additionally, Sheriff Gualtieri claimed that PCSO Deputy William Heck "was not chasing or pursuing" the Explorer, yet the GPS again shows that Heck's cruiser reached speed of 74.41mph, (30mph over the limit) just 1.3 miles before the crash scene indicating that Deputy Heck WAS chasing the teens and was doing so recklessly without his emergency lights on. And last but not least, the GPS tracker shows that at NO POINT IN TIME DID DEPUTY HECK "MAKE A U-TURN" TO GET BEHIND THE SEBRING as Sheriff Robert Gualtieri states he did multiple times according to the GPS tracking. GPS coordinates are automatically taken about 20 seconds apart. At NO point in time does Deputy Heck's cruiser head back east nor does GPS show the car on the east bound side of the road. No wonder he got so upset when reporters posed my question about his "secret chase policy" where he allows deputies to chase suspects at over 75mph WITHOUT THEIR EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON, just as this case proves.
