A work in progress. I am trying to get funding to finish the film. I have about 3 hours of material. The running time of the final film will be about 57 minutes. Needs Sound "Sweetening" and Color Correction. Actually, I have stopped working on this project. My last funding source told me the film needed a happy ending. I need money for color correction and audio editing. And I need to do some additional interviews and shoot some B-roll that illustrates solutions to homelessness. I started this film in 2013, when I picked up a camera and started interviewing homeless along San Francisco's 6th Street and the Tenderloin. So what you see is what you get. I also find the comments interesting - all the folks who want to blame the homeless and the "lefties" for the problem. One of the most popular complaint is Drugs - stop doing drugs and get a job. Does doing drugs cause homelessness or is the pain of being homeless the cause of doing drugs - self medicating one to endure the angst of the homeless existence. One commenter after ranting about the liberals causing the problem, suggested the homeless be rounded up and shot. Homelessness is structural and it also is a self choice. So what are the solutions for homelessness? What programs work? And lets hear from the folks who think that the Tech Corporations who made the housing situation in San Francisco worse, should help pay for the costs of correcting the problem. How many folks think we should build more affordable housing? How many think that we need to build more housing period? How many people want to really understand the problem and support solutions that work? Let's hear your votes, solutions and comments.
