Where should I live in Richmond Va? If you are thinking about moving to Richmond Va and you are curious about the best places to live in Richmond Va, then this video is for you! I go over the 6 BEST areas of Richmond Virginia and give you the pro's and con's of each area. When people talk about living in Richmond VA, they usually think of just Richmond city. However, when locals talk about living in Richmond what they really mean is the city AND all the surrounding areas/suburbs of Richmond. I start this video off by showing you 4 of the best spots to live within the city of Richmond, including Forest Hill, The Fan, Church Hill, and Northside. The pros to living in Richmond city include beautiful architecture, walkability, exciting nightlife, and proximity to tons of outdoor activities! The cons include higher rate of crime, expensive housing, higher taxes, and difficulty finding off street parking. Next I talk about Moseley. Moseley is a great option for families with its affordable newer construction neighborhoods and the Hull Street corridor full of commercial development. The downsides include how far away it is, and traffic on the Hull Street corridor. Mechanicsville is also mentioned as another best place to live in Richmond. If you want a more rural setting, yet still convenient to highway systems Mechanicsville Va might be for you. Not as commercially developed or with as highly rated school systems, it is still a great option because it is more affordable than other areas mentioned and it is usually a close 2nd in these type of lists. So it could be a perfect fit for you. Midlothian is a major contender for best places to live in Richmond Va. It is only 2nd to Short Pump Va in nearby amenities. Chesterfield is quite a large area, so in this video we break it down into just the sourthern parts near highway 288. Lots of housing inventory and lower prices make this a desirable area to live, and it isn't impossibly far away from everything if you need to commute to work.
