FREE Webinar: How to Get Your Child to Listen without Criticizing or Screaming: https://listen.miraclemakermom.com/ho... Your toddler has discovered the word ‘NO!’ And he’s using it a lot and testing the boundaries. How to be a positive parent who’s not always saying NO? How do you set boundaries, set limits for your toddler so you don't give in every time there's a temper tantrum and you don't feel like the bad guy? Toddler discipline is quite the challenge during the 'terrible twos', isn't it? Here are 5 Tips to help you set clear boundaries for your toddler, boundaries that will work – so you don’t need to say “NO!” all day long. 1. Be consistent. Don’t let them get away with it half the time (when you don’t have the energy to get off the couch). 2. Set your house up technically for success so you don’t need to keep running to keep them out of the cabinet under the sink. 3. Decide on the boundary in the first 15 seconds, then stick to it. Don’t give in. 4. Use few words and be clear. Can repeat but with very few words. No rambling. Few words. Clarity. 5. Move on and distract. Don’t dwell. 6. Don’t let the tantrum bother you. Be gentle and firm. Don’t get all worked up. Kids like to see a show and they’ll do the misdeed over and over again just to see you get angry. Make up in your mind that it doesn’t bother you. These are 6 tips to help you with setting boundaries for toddlers that have worked for me all through raising my 8 toddlers over the years. This is all part of the journey of mindful parenting.
