Hi friends!! Today I’m diving into how I check in with myself - daily, weekly, monthly, and annually. I’ve been experimenting with different practices throughout the years and this is what has worked, what hasn’t, and my current iteration of this practice. 1. Expressive Journaling- a writing technique, mostly used to focus on upsetting experiences, where you write free hand about your feelings and thoughts without censorship for short, regular periods (15-20ish mins/day for a few days) to process emotions, reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and enhance overall well-being. It’s often used in therapy. 2. Emotional weather forecasting- I’ve created an infographic describing it, if you want to check it out. It’s free! https://www.canva.com/design/DAGqFNFR... 3. Burn After Writing Journal- loved this starting out. This helped me bridge the gap between expressive writing and how I journal today https://www.amazon.com/dp/0593329910/... 4. Gratitude Journaling- writing about people, experiences, lessons, and things you're grateful for in your life. Focuses on what YOU HAVE versus what you perceive to be lacking. 5. Fox Journals/planners- http://amazon.com/dp/B084Z3JZ7S?ref=n... 6. Vision board - can be a big physical board or it could be done digitally. It could be collage style pictures or words, quotes, list of goals, intentions, etc. - there are NO RULES!! 7. Letter to your future self a year from now - no matter what you write, try to be KIND and forgiving to yourself! You can set a reminder sometime a year from now to read it, in the description of the reminder put down where you have the letter.
