Originally recorded March 13, 2025. In general, all of the booze bottles in the back room of that house where the bar was, were empty. The only exception being a bottle of Seagram's Crown Royal Whiskey. It's not called that anymore, it's just called Crown Royal. At some point, they dropped the Seagram's name from it. But that shows its age. Whisky, as well as many distilled spirits, NEVER go bad, they are good indefinitely. Other drinks, like your Irish Cream and liqueurs, anything containing milk solids, WILL expire. So drink those in a timely fashion. But then my dad and I found the stash in the basement. He took some, I took some. We cleaned it out. This was the "forgotten stash". They packed this stuff away thinking one day, they'd get to it. That day never came. I got a number of bottles of Slivovitz, which is a plum brandy. This is NO KIDDING AROUND stuff, very dangerous. It will get you drunk RIGHT quick. There was an old bottle of Tia Maria coffee liqueur that was also fine--as it contains no milk solids. Bottle of Beefeater Gin, unopened. A bottle of Rhum Barbancourt. A bottle of Four Roses Whiskey, which I have never heard of, also unopened. Then there were 3 boxes of Chivas Royal Salute. I never heard of this before. So I looked it up, and to my surprise, bottles of this stuff retail for around $150! And I got 3 of them! Turns out, I have a very special occasion coming up, which would be a perfect time to open one!
