I often feel that my Ibanez Tube Screamer lacks gain, especially compared to my Boss SD-1. After studying the schematics I found both pedals are similar but differ in three key ways. Clipping, gain and tone shaping. Two very easy mods to perform on any type of Tube Screamer, or Boss SD-1 is to modify the gain and tone stack. in this video we focus on changing the gain. Getting more gain out of your Tube Screamer is a relatively simple mod by adding a single resistor. in this example I added a switch to observe the difference. This mod can be performed on the TS8, TS9 and the Mini.
