Here's the next episode of Brewster's Millions Of Rants with 'Reach For It.' This lesson is a continuation of the "stretchy" material I've posted recently - such as the 'Stretch Guitar Chords' and The 'Chords Of Allan Holdsworth' lessons on the channel - but this time we're focusing on single-note and scale/arpeggio based material instead of chords. The ideas in this lesson feature a number of exercises, workouts, licks, and phrases that will help you develop and improve your frethand stretch or "reach" on the fretboard. After starting with a few initial ideas and exercises, we're eventually hitting some wide intervallic stretches and movements in this lesson, so be sure you're properly warmed up and ready for the challenging finger-spreading ideas shared in this lesson. There are plenty of legendary players with a wide intervallic frethand reach, including players such as Eddie Van Halen, Allan Holdsworth, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Buckethead, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, and many more. Working through this type of material and acquiring a wider frethand stretch is important and essential when working through music from any of the previously mentioned players, along with hundreds of other players as well.
